Ishka Theatre Company
A Red Day

Intriguing visual theatre from Ireland. A cult hit at the Dublin Fringe Festival, Ishka's debut production brings to life some of Picasso's most famous Cubist images in a kaleidoscope of light, colour, movement, sound and amazing body-masks. Ephemeral and fleeting, unfolding in a land of surreal and incredible happenings, A Red Day moves from playfulness to the tragedy of Guernica. Deviser-designer Elaine Bastible trained as a sculptor, and then at the Lecoq School where she developed her passion for mask theatre.

'You have to hand it to Ishka for daring ambition and originality. What extraordinary creations those huge body-masks are, realised stunningly by Bastible and the Company.' Irish Times

'Beautiful and striking theatre. A talent to watch and encourage'.
