Three women career through a shifting kaleidoscope of mad, anecdotal happenings,
culminating in a robbery at a luncheonette. 'Smart, complex, slyly hilarious,
altogether different with a vengeance' said the New York Times, 33 Fainting
Spells are Seattle performance artists Dayna and Gaelen Hanson (no relation) and
Peggy Piacenza. Their work has been commissioned and presented in America's leading
contemporary arts venues including Dance Theatre Workshop, New York, The Wooster
Group's Performing Garage in SoHo, and at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Massachusetts.
Dirty Work is inspired by sources ranging from Chekhov and Ingmar
Bergman to Roger Whittaker's New World in the Morning. Through a filter of outdated
low-fidelity media kit including school issue record players and projection equipment,
the trio navigates a series of quirky, surrealist zones in which the act of performance
teeters at a perilous junction between the sacred and the profane.
