A visual re-interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen's much loved fable which restores the dark tone of the original. Directed by Tanushka Marah, recent winner of a Young Vic Young Director Award, La Petite Mort features an all female cast, and specially commissioned music by Jules Deering, a recent winner of the Stockhausen Award for composition. Swathed in a dreamlike atmosphere it evokes universal themes of innocence, loss and triumph of the human spirit. The success of its previous production, Frankenstein, marked young Brighton-based Company Collisions as one of Britain's most exciting visual theatre prospects.
