The
London International Mime Festival was founded in 1977 and has
become one of the world's most influential arts festivals. In
2002, around 24,000 people attended, making attendance figures
more than 85% of capacity. At the peak of the 2003 Festival, 1,000

WANT
TO PERFORM IN THE FESTIVAL?
The
Mime Festival presents innovative visual theatre. Participation
is by invitation only.
To
let us know about your work, please send a VHS video (PAL or NTSC)
to:
Helen Lannaghan & Joseph Seelig London International Mime Festival
35 Little Russell Street London WC1A 2HH
If you would like your video returned to you, please enclose a
pre-paid postage envelope with your video.
If
we think what we see on the video looks appropriate for the festival,
we will then try to come and see the work live somewhere.
We
are looking for professional, non text-based work, which can include
animation theatre, circus skills, mask, mime, clown and visual
theatre. Ideally, the work should not have been performed in London
before. Please note that we do not programme pure 'dance' and
there are no outdoor performances.
The
2005 festival will take place from 15 - 30 January 2005. Submissions
should reach us by mid-July 2004, but ideally in the period May-June.
