Striking
visuals, acrobatics, movement and music combine in this beautiful
ancient Greek story, based on Aristophanes' speech from Plato's
Symposium, about the origin of love and the reason why
we search for our other half. Tmesis takes us back to a time when
there were three sexes; male, female, and hermaphrodite - two
headed, eight limbed creatures whose strength dared them to challenge
the Gods, creating disruption in a previously harmonious world...
One of Britain's most promising, young, physical theatre companies,
Liverpool-based Momentum makes a rare London appearance with these
performances at BAC. Winner of Best New Show in the 2003 Liverpool
Daily Post 'Key Awards', Tmesis has toured nationally and
abroad. The director is Complicité artist, Linda Kerr Scott.
'Momentum's sensual, slow-motion movement explores this super
close love affair with charm and wit. TIME OUT
'A tale of universal significance.' THE STAGE
